Fishing Report
June-July 2017
June & July Marlin fishing in Kona was Hot and Cold quite literally, our water stayed cold with moments of Warm water currents that coincided with quick hot marlin bites, 130-180 kg fish became the norm with some nice 300 and 360 kg Blues. The yellowfin tuna bite was outstanding; everyone in the fleet catching plenty up to 90 kg.
The end of July did see an increase of lots of male Blue Marlin, so going into September there is talk of a postponed big fish bite, with the big females spawning later then usual. The summer crowd goes home in September and fishing historically is very good.
