Went 1 for 2 yesterday on Blue Marlin and got one Ono for dinner. We slowly picking away at a few of them but It was definitely a little more difficult out there yesterday, we had to work pretty hard for the bites but eventually got our daily #bluemarlin. 2 for 3 on the Blues today catching an estimated 300 and 200 lb blue. Had a nice one on first thing in the AM that definitely looked over 600 but she came unhooked after about 15 min of chasing her around. 2 for 4 on blue marlin, small ones but did jump off one that looked 400. Also 0-1 on spear chuckers. Bit of a funky day yesterday but felt like we got back on the program today and the current seemed a bit more decisive and favoring a few good fish haunts. Another special day 2 for 3 on blue marlin, releasing an estimated 550 in excellent health & having a 640 die on us. In our last two days out we have caught a 750,650,640 and 550 !! Lucky lucky.. This is some damn good fishing at the moment & just super stoked to be experiencing what’s going on here. Fishing report. Had two days off and back on the water with a welcome surprise. 2 for 3 by 1 pm. Releasing a 550 and boating This 640 one which very unfortunately got tail wrapped at some stage and died on us. I have alot of respect for this particular fish, she ran harder then most blues I’ve ever hooked but came to the boat upside down so we are going to feed our friends. Wish we could have let her go but this happens in marlin fishing. 2 for 2 yesterday releasing healthy an estimated 650 and fat 750 lb blue marlin out of a double hook up. Great team effort on the benchmark @jayblesphoto did a outstanding job on deck, our angler Rob was tenacious and did a great job as well. Those fish tested us to the max and literally did everything wrong but we persevered and it’s A day to remember for sure.
Nothing like looking back off the transom to see 2 fish over 600 jumping all over the wake. I was laughing with excitement until I realized both were hooked good and we only had one angler! These big fish are obviously here spawning and are now starting to eat. Hang on folks, Kona’s about to bust off. If your not fishing July don’t worry I think August is gonna be a real big fish month, Just my 2 cents.
